Cockroaches
Cockroaches can spread several harmful bacteria from salmonella to streptococcus diseases one of which being the polio virus. When cockroaches defecate on food that is then consumed by people this causes problems with our health.
Two of the most common cockroaches that we come across are German cockroaches and American cockroaches.
German cockroaches are a smaller species of cockroach that normally inhabit apartment buildings, hotels, restaurants, and hospitals. However, it is not uncommon for them to follow you home. These little critters usually come out when it is dark, however, can sometimes come out in light if they have been disrupted. Please note: German Cockroach infestations are notoriously difficult to control without the help of a professional. Please do not waste time investing in hundreds of dollars of home treatments, call a professional immediately before your problem becomes far more severe.
The American cockroach is the largest cockroach species, it is also one of the fastest insects, and if feeling threatened it will dart out of sight. Similar to the German cockroach the American cockroach also prefers the dark. American cockroaches prefer damp warm areas and can commonly be found in crawl spaces, cracks of porches, and footpaths close to buildings.
